“There is always the possibility of being yourself, and any different iterations of yourself that you want to be.” — Pooja B

Taking the principles of freedom found in the Berlin club scene, Pooja B’s debut ambient record is a radical, yet calming call for self-acceptance. This is ambient music as an act of tender resistance, evoking the likes of Hiroshi Yoshimura to take us into some distant oasis, far away from the speed of modern life.

Moving away from familiar sound constraints, Pooja also worked with a deliberately strict time limit. Removing pressures and preconceptions the working process became a joyful one, offering a creative freedom that one can sense in the atmosphere of the songs.

The record invites us to shred expectations, ego and doubts via sound collages, insightful samples and ebbing textures.

A Berlin-based Indian artist and techno DJ, known for avant-garde iterations and futuristic sounds. Well established in the club scene, her productions adapt textures and tones while searching for stillness in a hyper, always-on world.

Berlin, Germany

With a musical journey that has taken her to cities and celebrations all over the world, Pooja’s approach to creativity is about community and craft. Her work, whether designed for the dancefloor or venturing into more experimental territory, resists a dystopian future while covertly exploring themes around mental health, rebellion and living fearlessly.

Building solidarity movements across scenes, she believes music can unify and bring people together. Working with Sources, her ambient releases carry the liberating spirit of Berlin’s dancefloors inwards, applying the same principles of freedom and non-judgement to our emotional landscapes.
