“There is always the possibility of being yourself, and any different iterations of yourself that you want to be.” — Pooja B
Taking the principles of freedom found in the Berlin club scene, Pooja B’s debut ambient record is a radical, yet calming call for self-acceptance. This is ambient music as an act of tender resistance, evoking the likes of Hiroshi Yoshimura to take us into some distant oasis, far away from the speed of modern life.
Moving away from familiar sound constraints, Pooja also worked with a deliberately strict time limit. Removing pressures and preconceptions the working process became a joyful one, offering a creative freedom that one can sense in the atmosphere of the songs.
The record invites us to shred expectations, ego and doubts via sound collages, insightful samples and ebbing textures.
