Heart of the Valley is Aisha Vaughan's love letter to the wild places that still exist. Recorded amongst the moss and thickets of Elan Valley's remote Celtic rainforests, it's a record shaped as much by environment as instrument.
Hiking out for hours at a time, Vaughan finds the right spot to record and lets nature become a real part of the music: field recordings, live harp, synths and her own voice weave into something unhurried and still.
Released on Earth Day, 'Heart Of The Valley' arrives at a moment when, as Vaughan puts it, "there aren't many places left in the UK that are truly wild." A reminder of the refuge nature can provide.
